Firefighter Training

When it comes to firefighting, Oliver Fire Department invests extensively in training and preparation for emergency response. Our Firefighters are required to maintain skills, certification and fitness.

Regular fire practice is held every Thursday at 7pm weekly, some of the topics we discuss and learn about include:

​

  • Task and Drill Practical Skills

  • VEIS ( Vent, Enter, Isolate, Search)

  • Auto Extrication 

  • Live Fire Sessions (at our training grounds)

  • Forcible Entry

  • Equipment Maintenance

  • First Responder Certification 

  • Electrical Emergencies 

  • Rapid Intervention Team (RIT Skills) 

  • Rope and Water Rescue

  • Mass Casualty Incidents

  • Theory

  • In-house Certification

  • And much more

We recruit annually based on demand.
