Oliver Fire Department

Oliver Fire‐Rescue is a volunteer fire department serving the Town of Oliver and the Rural Fire Protection District. It also serves the Osoyoos Indian Band, and offers extrication services for rural areas such as Mount Baldy and the McKinney region. The department also offers Mutual Aid to outlying communities and beyond.

The Command structure consists of a Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, and five Officers. On average, the Department has just over 30 active A-list members, with each member carrying a role to ensure smooth operations within the department. This also includes a training team, lead by our Training Officer, in which they ensure all members are up to date with current training practices.  All members are trained to Play-Book Interior Firefighting Standards.

The department responds to many calls throughout the year. The average call volume is around 230+ calls per year.  Now with most of the members being First Responders and trained for medical assistance, they will be taking on approximately 200 more calls through out the Oliver area.

Our "Life-Time" members are our veteran firefighters who have given 25+ years to the department.  These members give invaluable input and offer assistance when needed and also at their discretion.
